CRISPR-Cas9 has changed the field of biology because it can change genomes with incredible speed and accuracy. CRISPR applications in zoology are growing quickly and are giving scientists new ways to solve important problems in species conservation. new ways to use CRISPR to protect biodiversity, mainly in genetic rescue, managing rare species, and getting rid of organisms that are invasive or spread disease. There are many examples of how CRISPR has helped endangered species by making them more resistant to disease, boosting genetic diversity, and restoring healthy genes. In the same way, gene drive technologies can help control mosquitoes and other vectors, but they also raise social and environmental concerns. This method could change the field of conservation science by making it possible to manage animal health, population viability, and ecosystem balance in a way that is always changing. Before genome editing is used in wild populations, it is important to think carefully about the risks to the environment, the rules that govern it, and how the public feels about it. the pros and cons of using CRISPR as a new way to protect species in the Anthropocene by combining existing research with conservation uses.
