Abstract

Anxiety and sadness are prevalent mental health issues that affect countless individuals globally. Complementary and alternative medicine is gaining popularity, despite the efficacy of more conventional therapies like medication and psychotherapy. Anxiety and depression may find relief through the ancient mind-body practise of yoga, which has only just gained recognition as a possible remedy. The article delves into the research and practical applications of yoga in dealing with various mental health concerns. As a complete mind-body intervention, yoga encompasses not only physical postures but also breathing exercises, meditation, and mindfulness practices. Indians were the first to practice yoga. The effectiveness of yoga in managing anxiety and depression is due to several different factors. Some of these methods include making people more emotionally resilient, regulating their autonomic nervous system, and reducing stress.
