Abstract

This research, entitled "The Didactics of Rhetorical Instruction at the Middle School Level in Light of Modern Procedural Mechanisms: An Applied Study of the Arabic Language Textbook," aims to examine the reality of teaching rhetoric at the middle school level and to investigate the extent to which modern procedural mechanisms are employed in presenting rhetorical concepts within the Arabic language textbook. The study proceeds from the premise that rhetoric is a means of developing communicative competence and linguistic taste, rather than merely a body of theoretical rules to be memorized and recalled.

The study adopts the descriptive-analytical approach by analyzing the content of the Arabic language textbook for middle school education. It examines the instructional strategies, learning activities, and assessment methods presented therein, as well as the degree of their consistency with the competency-based approach and contemporary pedagogical orientations, such as active learning, discovery learning, problem-solving, cooperative learning, and the use of authentic texts and communicative contexts.
